A great photo taken last weekend by Steve Hale at Llanfoist on the Mon and Brec canal.

The building on the right was the wharf building. The far building was the wharfinger's house. A tramway used to come down from the Blorange mountain in the distance. Well worth a visit.

I took a trip up to our boat on Tuesday this week for its 4 yearly BSS safety check.

These were the views from Llangynidr mountain looking north. The view are great from here at any time of the year. A nice road to drive on as well, though some people do come to regret its unforgiving nature!

Walk from Herons Rest Marina to bridge 113 by the Sequoia this afternoon on the Mon and Brec canal.

Water level is down a little. Water is nice and clear with no boats stirring it up. Scary to see what's on the bottom 🪨🪨 😱

Went to the Blue Anchor pub in East Aberthaw earlier this week. A classic old Inn well worth visiting. Food was great and helpful friendly service.

We visited Lydney Harbour and the short canal that runs into Lydney town last weekend.

What I wasn't expecting was to be perfectly lined up to get the two Severn Bridges at sunset.

I have two #RaspberryPi Bot accounts I run. They were on that place for years. Have now migrated them to Bluesky. The Bluesky API was easy to use, except one account was restricted for a while until it had liked a few other accounts.

Went to the IWA Gloucestershire and Hertfordshire Branch AGM at Over near Gloucester last Saturday. Afterwards had a nice walk along the canal. The first photo is off a very deep buried lock that used to connect the Hertfordshire and Gloucestershire Canal to the River Severn.

Stopped of at Llanmihangel on the way home. I spent a lot of my childhood in the manor house here and on the farm. This old millpond was totally filled in, but has now been cleaned out and restored.
