Day 18 #StradaEasel — after yesterday’s unsuccessful attempt to paint some cylinders, today I’m doubling down on the same topic with more cylinders of a different size and under a variety of angles

Day 17 #StradaEasel — and today I was fighting against light and time, and I was defeated. In the sense that I think the result I got is terrible. But we still need days like this to learn, as we can only learn from our mistakes.

Day 16 #StradaEasel — one-hour oil study of a snake plant. I just got some light today, and it is a rare luxury this winter, so I seized the opportunity to test my plein air setup in a safe (and warm) environment 😁

Day 15 #StradaEasel — busy day today, so just a tiny sketch for a challenge. But I’m also working on a new oil painting at the moment, so stay tuned 👋🏼

Day 14 #StradaEasel — it was windy, it was cold, it was awesome. I combined two challenges, strada and drawing 100 trees (yes I didn’t abandon it), and this is the first outdoor sketching session of this year 🙌🏼

Day 13 #StradaEasel — another lazy and quick sketch, as I barely had time today for drawing. A chisel for a strada easel 😄 I drew it with a different lighting, so shadows are not quite the same

Day 12 #StradaEasel — a quick and lazy one today, but at least I tried to be funny with it 😄

Day 11 #StradaEasel — A bottle of Bacardi and a lime. Oil on paper, 15x21 cm (approximately)
January 11, 2026 at 3:47 PM
Day 10 #StradaEasel — finally I have some time for oils 🙌🏼 But I only managed to create a base layer and mix some of the colours, although I missed a few tones significantly, so I’ll have to fix that tomorrow

Day 9 #StradaEasel — charcoal again, as I’m looking forward to the weekend for oil painting. I have a few ideas to explore, so stay tuned 👋🏼

Day 8 #StradaEasel — when time is limited, charcoal is the answer. This is probably the quickest medium I have in terms of surface coverage without too much prep work. Not happy with the shadows, but it was nice to return to charcoal

Day 7 #StradaEasel — and today I’m going back to basics with a pencil sketch of an apple. I’m guilty of unintentionally drawing and painting loose, wonky lines and shapes instead of trying to be more precise. I think it is because I’m not giving the base steps the time they deserve
January 7, 2026 at 12:30 PM
Day 6 #StradaEasel — we had snow in London today, so I decided to make today’s painting about a Christmas tree. I’m also testing my plein air setup before going out and painting landscapes😄
The only thing is the background — it is too dark. I guess I need to do more value studies
January 6, 2026 at 2:20 PM
Quick 40-minute oil study of a pomegranate. In my recent art haul, I bought loose faux “linen” canvas, and I wanted to test it with something simple. So far, I’m enjoying it a lot, and the new paint from Michael Harding performs great

Day 5 #stradaeasel — another approach on bricks as I think yesterday's sketch was too loose and wonky. Today I had more attention on getting perspective right, but today’s struggle was in layering inks to create values 😁

Day 4 #stradaeasel — quick sketch with inks
January 4, 2026 at 6:01 PM
With more colours added to my palette, I thought it would be good to play with them to learn and understand how they behave. So I made a basic palette with Titanium white added twice to each colour. It was a lot of work and a lot of fun, and it looks pretty neat in the end, don’t you agree?

Day 3 #stradaeasel — a still life from yesterday is done. And it was so fun to play with new easel and brushes
January 3, 2026 at 10:12 PM
I’m so happy today because of a huge art haul 😁 Now I have an easel for plein air. It still requires some glue, bolts and engineering to perform 😁 And a sketching board made in Ukraine 🇺🇦. And I added to my palette a few very nice oil paints from Michael Harding.

Day 2 #stradaeasel and today I’m doing it with oils as I initially intended 🙌🏼 It is super hard to film the process, but tomorrow's video will show it from the start, I need some time for editing

Jan 1st morning — this is the first drawing of 2026, and this year I’m trying to draw and paint more from life and observation rather than from photo references. Also, this is Day 1 #stradaeasel
