The ultimate obscenity in the New World, where one corrupt leader with blood on his hands salutes a fellow facist tyrant who he nominates for Nobel peace prize. Welcome to dystopia that is today, the United States of disarray.

What a contrast!

MUSK, the stale odor of corruption and decay in USA today.
The joy and positivity of 56,000 "athletes" in London on Sunday.

My band are playing at Mile 25 (Cleopatras Needle) to support the Cystic Fibrosis Trust and ALL participants.

Surely one of our prime responsibilities as scientists is to address the key issue specifically excluded in this survey - namely identifying a consensus method for measuring utilities. Take your pick SG / TTO / VAS / DCE / PTO / ME ?
So what does this say about the "science" of health economics ?

The outside(free) world sees the US in self-destruct mode. We also feel the pain. Trump is the catalyst but the fault lines go way back, even before the Civil War. Watch out for legal battles between States & WH. With Supreme Court mediation? And a 3rd Term? And everywhere, the right to bear arms.

Which is more important - the Hippocratic Oath and its enjoinder to "abstain from all intentional wrong-doing and harm" or subservience to a political party and its tyrant leader?
I guess we know now in Trump's United States

What is so staggering to the world outside Fortress America, is the sheer scale of its impoverished leadership and the obvious failure of its system of governance. Trump's re-election is not the cause, it is a symptom of deep-rooted, primitive values in a society some 150+ years out from civil war.

Afraid NOT. QALY's landed in health economics literature in late 1970s. Achieved UK prominence with Alan Williams@York in 1980s. Consolidated in NICE Technical Guidance ~2000. Great concept but problematic - health economists cannot agree on a standard process to measure "value" states of health
