No woman should be expected to change her clothes in front of a biological male, regardless of how that male identifies.
The fact that Upton then became upset because Peggie refused to undress in front of him, simply makes the whole issue of Upton's motives even more suspect.

Epstein & Maxwell were criminal cases, brought by the State; Andrew's was a civil case brought by the girl and timed to cause maximum embarrassment to the Queen. There are no criminal charges laid against him, he's only sought as a potential witness.

Did Andrew 'escape justice?' He settled the case out-of-court, which is the way 90% of American civil cases are concluded.
The case would never have been brought against him at all, if his mother wasn't the Queen.

The series doesn't really find its true style until the 4th book, "Mort". But from then on, it's brilliant right up until the last couple of books, where Sir Terry's illness is dulling his voice.
