It does sound like there is a general gap between your knowledge and the life of the community in general. That's less an issue of the LPP and this event and more an issue of helping you find how to do this. I think you might find it helpful to join the CC mailing list to solve this problem.

In all of the above it is demonstrable that you dont have to know one of the organisers personally to know about this event. If you have an interest in the life of the village, if recommend you attend a CC meeting or sign up to the newsletter. The CC is the main org that promotes village events

We have done 3 leaflet drops around around 200 homes in the area. Its strange you haven't received these, but its certainly not through want of trying.

Its odd that you haven't known of the CC newsletter or the website despite living in the Community for over 20 years, but those are obviously key ways that we have reached a large section of the Community who have an existing pre awareness of these existing key modes of communication for the village

Im sorry, I do disagree. We promoted this event in multiple ways, physical, digital and through newsletters, as well as by word of mouth. You are not on Facebook or linked in. Blue-sky is not a common go to channel yet to promote such events.

Andy also promoted this on LinkedIn in if you follow him there. I myself just joined Blue-sky today specifically to respond to your comment.

In additon to the poster in the noticeboard there was also a large 3m by 2m vinyl banner facing the main road at the apex of the Coronation carpark for several weeks in April May promoting the whole LPP process and the mailing list

Anyway, I highly recommend the CC newsletter, generally. Its an excellent way to get all sorts of news about the village, and I know had been valued for a long time by many villagers.
July 12, 2025 at 3:59 PM
It would be unusual if we have missed you all three times if so
July 12, 2025 at 3:58 PM
I'm also wondering whether you have had any of the leaflets through your letterbox in the last 2 to 3 months. I know that Marion on the LPP steering group has been involved in all three leaflet drops. Are you within the village boundary of Pool of Muckhart or Yetts?
July 12, 2025 at 3:58 PM
Hello, are you on the Community Council mailing list? Its an excellent bimonthly resource that has been produced for the community for several years. Im sorry you only found out about the Community Council website until today...its been around for several years too.

or get in contact with myself or one of the steering group members...these are listed on the LPP page on the Muckhart Community website

or that this is a normative experience for the bulk of the community. To avoid such a situation in future could I invite you to go to the Muckhart Community page and sign up to both the regular CC newsletter and the dedicated LPP newsletter,
July 12, 2025 at 2:57 PM
It could be that somehow a situation has arisen that has managed to lead you to miss all this messaging. But that would be an outlier which I would seek to amend. However, I would respectfully disagree that the community didn't know or have opportunities to know about this event,

and the talk is embedded in a six month local place plan process which includes a statutory 28 day notice period and further additonal consultation on the draft (to follow). In terms of marketing and community engagement processes my position is that this is a good foundation, as it comes.
July 12, 2025 at 2:57 PM
the talk was promoted on the FB page of Muckhart Community Council and their newsletter, the issue was first put before the community in a meeting in May (publicly advertised),
July 12, 2025 at 2:56 PM
It may help you to know that a commitment was made to put a leaflet through everyone's door in the community for this event (in additon to two previous full community leaflet drops and full vinyl signage marketting of the LPP at the Coronation Hall),

Hello! I'm Paul Ede and I'm supporting the Muckhart Local Place Plan Steering group (8 local residents) and Community Council, including curating this event. Without doubt I would want to ensure that you personally are looped into future communications about the process and Muckhart Commonty.
