I am not Gary Sinise. He does not like or support any of this.
Great article, Ben. As a man of culture and refinement, I knew this was an all-time great offseason the moment Jeff McNeil was offloaded for a DSL kid, regardless of further moves. I noticed he didn't make it into the article, which is a fitting tribute to his time in Queens.

This take is already aging well since it looks like the Mets NPV was actually a bit higher than the Dodgers, and they may have front-loaded the deal more to benefit Tucker if opt outs were included. Cohen is a fucking moron and a crook.

Probably a minority opinion but I'm perfectly with washing off the last of the Wilpon stink.

How good is Lombard actually? It's always so difficult to know as an outsider what's Yankee propaganda and what's reasonable hype surrounding a Yankee prospect.

The die is cast. The Rockies will now win a pennant in just a few short decades. Low-information orgs rejoice; MLB has outdone itself! An inspiring performance reminiscent of Gary Sinise's brilliant role as "Extra (Uncredited)" in 1978's masterpiece "A Wedding" starring Carol Burnett.

Is Diaz even better than Williams in a vacuum at this point? Really feels like to me like it's 50/50 who will be better any given season. Diaz had the edge this past year if you think that's more predictive but we've seen Diaz have a great year then be not so great before.

Is Lindor a "problem?" He's beefed with McNeil, who regularly throws tantrums on the field and has been called out before for work ethic issues. Has Lindor had some other issue I'm unaware of?

The stuff with him and Soto seems like a complete nothing burger.

I think it's worth noting that through age 31 Lindor is clearly better than all of these guys, though.

Those are good points. IMO, Whitaker and Grich would be in if they played now. Fregosi doesn't belong with these other guys because his career basically ended at age 28, so he just didn't accumulate. Finished with only 44 fWAR. Utley I think should get in but he's a toss up. Trammel is borderline.

I don't know much about Jeff Albert despite his involvement with the org the past several years; how pleased are you with this hiring on a scale of 1-10?

Are you concerned that Mark Vientos won't let the ball get deep into the catcher's glove before swinging now? He was really humming under Chavez.

Do you think trading Lindor is a real possibility or is it just something Martino is throwing out there because he's Martino?

Do you think he'd be an upgrade on Mendoza in a vacuum?

Don't you think they have a good chance at being better next year? Do you not believe in Stearns' ability to put together a team with a real chance to win it all in the next few years? Genuine questions. I don't know what to think right now.

Beloved actor and heartthrob Gary Sinise has been having trouble finding work in HollyWOKE lately (due to woke, very unfair), maybe he could manage the Mets in 2026 and use random number generation to make in-game tactical decisions. This could lead to more modern pen usage third time through.

Do you think Benge is ready? Would they be crazy to rush him?
