In addition to wellbeing our (@mcollischon.bsky.social) research also shows that the pandemic affected social trust.

In ongoing work, we also show how wage inequality and refugee migration in the context of multiple crises affect trust.

We use fixed effects regressions with pandemic wave indicators to analyze the trajectories for different groups. In nearly all cases, mental health is, albeit not always significantly, below pre-pandemic levels. 4/n

We use data from the PASS (@iab_news) containing information on the Mental Health Component Summary Score from the SF-12 from 1 (poor) to 5 (excellent). Descriptively, we observe a decrease when the COVID-19 pandemic began, but an increase as the pandemic fades out. 3/n

Looking forward to our new project (funded by @boeckler-stiftung.bsky.social) that tries to explain the increasing regional divide in trust between Eastern rural parts of Germany and the rest of Germany. Together with @mcollischon.bsky.social and Felix Rahberger. We use panel data from the IAB.

Today, I have been to GU for the first time during my interim position as substitute professor of sociology and met the great team of Markus Gangl. I checked out the seminar rooms and tried not to get lost on campus and in the buildings. The DB also was almost on time (only 20 and 30 minutes delay).
