I think that’s the most deflating part of it. You can be okay and under the assumption that a flare is behind you and feeling optimistic, and within hours it starts again. It took a 10 day visit to the ICU to make me accept my fate. Glad I finallly did, though.

That’s what happened to me. Plus part of my small intestine. It’s not as bad as it sounds, but definitely not a path I’d have chosen if given that choice from the beginning. Ostomate since 2020.

This is the same course I went through. We tried a few Hail Mary therapies and nothing was working. Post-colectomy Diversion Colitis won, and now I have the Barbie body I never really asked for! But, I have my life back.

I just had a conversation this week with one of my cats who kept looking at me funny, and I told her if I find myself dead, she has my ever permission to eat me. I told her to start with my eyeballs as an appetizer
