I appreciate that Rep. Walsh recognizes my “knowledge” on the ACA, but I think we have different definitions of “failure.” Health coverage regardless of pre-existing conditions, subsidies that allow people to get and keep insurance, and a 4.8% uninsured rate are worth fighting for.

"That has saved us taxpayer money," she said. "Now we have people who are actually able to access healthcare preventatively, rather than using the emergency room, which we all pay for." The commissioner argued that this is the time to invest more in the Affordable Care Act, not less. "The enhanced premium tax credit has been enormously successful. And why would the federal government stop and say they want to cut that program? It's actually working. These tax credits have enabled thousands of Washingtonians to access healthcare," Kuderer said. Federal immigration enforcement action interrupting firefighters who are responding to an active wildfire makes Washingtonians less safe. It’s another example of the Trump administration undermining disaster response.
