Lived through 2010 and that redistricting cycle as an idealist poli-sci/law student. Felt this quote in my bones:

The iconic image of the "presentation of Simba" from The Lion King (1994), during the opening "Circle of Life" song. In it, Rafiki the mandrill stands at the edge of a cliff (colloquially referred to as "Pride Rock") while holding newborn lion cub Simba out for all the animals of the savanna to bow and pay their respects to. Behind Rafiki stand both King Mufasa and Queen Sarabi, Simba's parents. This image has been (poorly) modified to replace Simba with the congressional map of New York.

The first video, an hour and thirty-eight minute OST-themed walkthrough of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, has 2k views. The next two are between 15-20 minute song reaction videos of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 that have 130k and 380k views respectively.

Facebook out there really striving to prove the Dead Internet theory is real
A mobile screenshot of a promoted post (i.e. from an account the user does not actively follow) on the user's Facebook feed. The content is posted from an account called "Funny Memes" with the caption "Best funny memes of The Day 🤣". The shared image is a (presumably stolen) four-panel comic strip attributed to u/thisendup76, in which each panel contains a speech bubble calling out to a dog with "I missed you Bud!" The first three images depict the dog as a puppy, an adult, and as old. The final image depicts an empty dog bed, and instead of an excited exclamation the quote trails off ("I miss you Bud..."). This comic was clearly not intended by the author to be funny, but rather to illustrate the emotional highs and lows of owning and then losing a life-long companion animal.

My reply to User B from the conversation shown in the prior screen capture restating the "Two Americas" concept. User A from said prior screen capture, who previously dismissed Emma Lazarus as a "Jewish chauvinist" as well as "ethnic chauvinists from Eastern Europe who didn't even get here until the late 1800s", replies to the theory only to complain that "'Toby Keith' is obviously a pejorative."

This massive social movement, ranging three tweets over nine years, was my twitter magnum opus. As you can see, it moved numbers.
A tweet dated 9/14/23 stating "It has taken nine years, a DLC package, a Deluxe port, and six waves of additional DLC, but... JUSTICE HAS BEEN DELIVERED!" The tweet is quoting a prior tweet dated 11/20/2014 stating "Three Mario character slots (unlike Yoshi/Shy Guy colors) and no Diddy representation in #MarioKart8 #JusticeforDiddy" with an image of three versions of Super Mario, from the Super Mario Bros video game franchise, as he appears in the video game Mario Kart 8, all superimposed in front of an image of Diddy Kong from the Donkey Kong video game franchise, who at the time was not included in the character roster for Mario Kart 8 for the Nintendo Wii U video game console.
