I did watch. He was being a polite Canadian. Don't mistake that for weakness. He's Canadian steel inside. He's placating FOTUS to get what he wants. If pushed, it won't be pretty.

Our PM used words that are neither complimentary or negative ie. a transformational president. That's a polite way of saying Trump is destroying the world. Carney doesn't want to wind up the lunatic.
