Knitters! Anyone know what the symbols in the bottom row and the far right row of the chart mean? I think the chart might a Japanese stitch pattern but don't find it in my reference book. Thank you!

The Golden crownbeard is a patch of abt 500 sq ft. I was stunned today to see it shimmering, absolutely shimmering with pollinators (bees, butterflies, flies...), easily a couple thousand. Never seen anything like it my life. It's the only thing blooming now. Next year, 50' x 50'.

The native sky blue aster (Aster azureus, I think) courtesy of my bird friends.

No cosmos but yesterday found 2 tiny threadleaf tickseed coreopsis while mowing.
2 tiny yellow coreopsis just taller than the dried, brown and mowed prairie grass, with a patch of their green needle-like leaves to the right of the flowers.

So, frogs. I adore them. With all the rain this year, they are abundant and always singing. These are my best guesses for id, according to the list of Okie frogs and toads at the terrific website thefroglady.org.
