You would like it (History of Rock and Roll in 500 Songs) I think, and the most recent episode was a cool 2.5 hours on CCR that never stopped being interesting. Every time an episode drops and I wonder if it is more than I will want on a particular band the answer is always no

But insofar as we democratic socialists do have an obligation to the national Democratic Party it would be good for us to get our membership organization house in order, so that there is a democratic left org that doesn't embarrass our elected officials

I wish that they could see that the "democratic socialist" identity has the big advantage of not being weighed down by the Democratic Party's past commitments, many of which are anchors around the party

Sometimes I think that the Democratic Party doesn't know how to solve that problem and so they direct displaced anger at us

For our part, those of us on the democratic socialist side of things have the problem that no matter where we fit in the party, right-media is going to present some left-wing extremist as representing the party to generate outrage for its audience

Or they can 2) get behind a really significant voting reform that would alter the party structure in this country so that the democratic socialist people and the mainline liberals are in different parties, even if frequently in coalition

They can either 1) say things like the above, work to normalize it and explain that this isn't ooga-booga authoritarian socialism and whether or not one agrees with it, having a handful of state-run grocery stories and higher taxes on the rich is not the end of freedom
