I just got back from Helsinki. The bike lanes blew my mind. They are integrated into sidewalks, not streets. A pedestrian paradise, even with worse weather. We can do so much better.

States can also over-build and pre-build power delivery to shorten lead times when large projects come shopping. The transformer queue is a major buzzkill.

National Geographic had a terrific piece a couple years ago about how trees cool neighborhoods, but require resources to maintain, and low resource neighborhoods are the heirs of redlining, so today we can see the ghost of redlining in surface temps. Would be interesting to run it back with noise.
