When Trump pretended to believe that Obama was born in Kenya - that was a dog whistle for all the racist, misogynist, religious bigots to come out from under their rocks. And there's a heck of a lot of those folks.

You probably recall that Trump had the Enquirer photoshop Ted Cruz' dad with Lee Harvey Oswald, then he pretended to believe it was real.

I'd be curious to know what sorts of photoshopping Bondi (or at her staff) does. The tech is so much better these days.

He also said that Ted Cruz' dad was involved in the JFK assassination, and that Ted committed fraud when he won Iowa.

Why does anyone even pretend to believe anything he says? No one actually believes any of it.

IMO, a fundamental mistake is assuming GOP comments are in good faith, and that they believe what they're saying.

Trump had the Enquirer fabricate the JFK-Cruz story. He, and everyone in his campaign, knew it was false. And then they rolled out a media blitz.

Deliberate lies are the strategy.

I wouldn’t say the entirety of Congress. It’s the Republicans blocking it.

You may recall that there were two prior attempts at impeachment.

I had high hopes for him. The stroke seems to have changed him (or exposed who he really was). So freakin' disappointing.

My wife got some for me to try; I guess it's supposed to be good for me. I mix it in with my oatmeal. Along with some bananas and peanut butter, I don't notice it that much.

But as a drink? Nope. Nopetity nope nope nope.

Precisely. They all know it’s his signature, but to stay in the club, they have to say whatever he tells them to say.

He fully understands batteries.

He's a deliberate & intentional liar who makes money off of fossil fuels.

The entire administration is packed with grifters, con artists, scammers. Not a one of them actually believes anything they say. They're all rotten to the core, just like the MAGA base.
September 9, 2025 at 8:51 PM
She’s a liar, and she knows that the base will lie too. Nobody is fooled. The base isn’t tricked.

She’s telling MAGA to get on board with protecting a pedophile. And they’ll do it, because it’s more important to them to see black and brown people get hurt. That’s the only thing that matters.

I'm always astounded that a former partner of Paul Manafort, who worked with him in Ukraine to prop up a Russian-backed thug, was Bernie's strategy guy in '16.

Two R-linked campaigns, hitting HRC from both sides... and nobody notices this....

Heck of a coincidence.

Trump had the Enquirer photoshop Ted Cruz’ dad with Lee Harvey Oswald, and then pretended it was legit. Pence and others played along with the scam.

Same schtick, different day. No one believes Trump, they just pretend that they do.
August 26, 2025 at 11:36 AM
They did this with Obama being "born in Kenya," pizza gate, and "stolen votes." It's not any different than what Alex Jones did with Sandy Hook.

They know every bit of it is a lie. They all do. And they keep doing it because the media and public swallow everything as being in "good faith."
August 19, 2025 at 3:23 PM
The Cruz-JFK BS is always top-of-mind for me. Trump had the Enquirer cook up the story (Cohen met with them regularly), then Trump went on a publicity spree (with Pence in tow) pretending to believe it.

This is the MAGA playbook. Make up a lie, coordinate with others to push it out.

There's a firm belief that they can't be held responsible for their own actions, and that they can do whatever they want and there are no consequences.

Trump operates that way. He's never held responsible. Never any consequences (for him). It's always someone else's fault. That's the appeal.
