Deification is the correct word. I have lately come to realize that "Christ" is a title, "Jesus" a man's name. The current crop of "Christians" have seemingly removed the title from Jesus (show me the evidence they care about his teachings) and awarded it to ... yes, Trump.

I truly hope so, as that prediction presumes a preservation somewhere of a sense of what actually once made America "great."

Do anyone's "theories of the constitution" even matter now? Three of the justices will make it up on the fly, three will go along if their desired outcomes are achieved, and the rest will craft more or less brilliant dissents.

I think the obsession on the right with single-family homes has a simpler explanation than their inbred double standards concerning sexual behavior: they simply cannot imagine why people would want to live in cities.
