So she repeated the process, starting at eye-level working down.

When she hadn't seen her name a second time, she started to panic.

That's when a friend arrived and redirected her eyes to the top of the list - the scream of joy could be heard around the entire building. (5/5)

She started looking at eye-level and couldn't see her name amongst the 2:1s, shrugged disappointedly and looked lower. And as she moved lower and lower down the list, you could see her disappointment grow. Until she reached the bottom and hadn't seen her name. (4/5)

On results days, the results were printed out and pinned to the notice board in one long list from firsts at the top above my eyeline, to fails at the bottom by my knees.

I'd seen my result and just as I was leaving a mature student came to the noticeboard. (3/5)

some wanted to be 'cool' and hang out with us - which we wanted even less. But the majority just quietly got on with the course and although we weren't friends, they were well respected. This story involves one of the students in the last group. (2/5)
