Forgot to do this last week. This week's been a good one for watching movies. Saw the 4K release of High and Low and I've been thinking about it ever since. It gets better with each viewing. #lastfourwatched #letterboxdfriday

On Monday, my weekly movie club watched Juraj Herz's Beauty and the Beast. It was incredibly unhinged. After, I watched Highest 2 Lowest and it was an incredible disappointment. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

I'm not surprised that John Cale released a song with Charli XCX, but I'm a little surprised that it sounds more like Venus in Furs than POPtical Illusion.

just finished my first listen to Through the Open Window. Early 60s Dylan is the period of I am the least interested in, but I still found the release to be pretty great. This period is one of his most bootlegged periods, and still I found myself surprised by some of the performances and sounds.

Sackville friends! I'll be part of this round table on independent publishing tomorrow along with a bunch of incredible zine-makers, small-press publishers, and other book people! Hope you can make it!

Saw Jonathan Richman in Halifax on Sunday. It was one of the best concerts I've ever had. It was such a tight performance, but also felt like he was making up songs on the spot.

Watched Donkey Skin with some friends this week. It's an incredible movie, and I wish they made more like it. I love how it just embraces the absurdity of fairy-tale logic. Didi intensely reminded me of what it was like being a teenager online in the late aughts. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

Not included in this #lastfourwatched is Cocteau's Beauty and the Beast, which is the movie that got me into movies. Hadn't watched it in 5 years. Every moment is perfect. #letterboxdfriday

Tonight after Splitsville, someone came out of the theatre and said "was it just me or was that movie shit?" I hadn't had that much fun in a movie theatre in years. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

I feel pretty basic giving One Battle 5 stars, but it was one of the best movie-going experiences I've ever had. Also Materialists has an incredible atonal, Lady From Shanghai, like quality to it. I can see why people hate it, but it's a fascinating movie. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

I've skipped so many good movies because they had bad trailers.

Nickel Boys blew me away. Stunning movie. Overall, Dekalog was fine, with great episodes. Just not really my thing. The Hunger Games movies are mediocre adaptations of a great book series. It should be remade with a much stronger POV. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

It's been a few weeks since I remembered to do this. Got two episodes left of Dekalog. Enjoying it at times, excited to be done with it. Freakier Friday was sloppy but enjoyable. #letterboxdfriday #lastfourwatched

Over on the Joni Mitchell subreddit someone said how much they liked Don Juan's Reckless Daughter and all the comments are about how she shouldn't have changed the cover.

It would be useful right now if some random small town in Canada had the World’s Biggest Fire Hydrant.

Weird the NS government hasn’t shut down Matchtown Market. Seems like a very obvious fire hazard.
