I drew this in March 2022. Evergreen. With #ukraine.
'Imagination' is a smaller piece. It's a 12" square wood panel. It's not very visible here, but I also worked with modeling paste. The entire image is slightly elevated above the background, as you can see in the second in-progress image.

My latest painting is another exercise in letting go of my tendency to make everything crisp and clean. The underpainting is a color scheme I don’t go with-oranges, teals and greens. I let them peek through just a tiny bit in the final version.

My latest. My painting explorations seem to be getting closer to something that feels more me.

I took a risk which involved using a paper stencil, and I didn't really glue it down (HUGE risk). I did get some imperfect edges, but I knew that would be the case going in, and I like them that way. All in all, not bad considering I rescued a failed painting.

“Unfolding” started with a quick sketch. I trusted what I wanted to make from the start because I was intentional about letting my intuition guide me. I didn’t let my doubts creep in. It was a great mental exercise in general. Next up: experiments with texture.

Today is the last day of my staycation and I just finished this piece. I’m going to call this one my official first painting. It doesn’t have a name yet.

This one has been years in the making–literally. Pulled it out of the closet to get it done. Still not sure what I’m doing but learning more every day.

When a painting doesn’t work and you go back to paper. Tried and true - but I’m still practicing my painting technique. Today I just found another way not to do it! #art #illustration

I tried this as a painting and it didn't work. #stilllearning

I’m finally done with this one. Pretty happy with how I used a different medium to amp up my paper art.

There are obvious differences manly because I wanted to keep the card as simple layers. Believe it or not the painting came first.

Sadly this wall does not exist. I don’t have enough wall space to do this! I wanted to see what a bunch of framed pieces would look like because I’m finally going to sell some frameable pieces for people that have been asking and don’t have cutting machines. Fun times ahead! #paper #illustration

Experiment. Working with different levels, shadow effects and color blocks and reds. I want more of the warm red, but I can’t find it anywhere 🥲

✨ Big update: my paper crafting world has a new name — Reverie Curio! ✨

Nothing about my work has changed—still me! But with my new journey into leadership coaching, it was time to give my creative side its own home.

This week’s new design: Whimsy Petals.

Some days it just feels strange to share why I do after work. Today is not one of those days. I share because I want to, and that's reason enough. It's called Wildflowers.

'Morning Gratitude' has now become a pattern. I hadn't worked on one in a long time. Add some mock stationery pieces, and yes, this is totally my thing.

Naps are the best! However, they can be very disorienting when you wake up at 8 pm and think it's 8 am (the next day), only to realize you're not about to start your day. Yikes.

So, here I am drawing at crazy hours because, of course, I'm wide awake now.

My Spriglets collection is out. These are a departure from my usual but they started from an idea my daughter had 11 yrs ago so there close to my heart—and they’re just fun to make.

These have been fun to work on. Now I need to figure out what to call them. These are just 4 out a dozen.

Trying something different. At the same time, not so far from my girls, in the "Adventures in the Garden" coloring book.

Flutter is the latest and greatest. I’ve had butterflies floating around my sketchbook for a while and this one finally came to life.

These are the results of the last few weeks of drawing without overthinking. I've been leaning into what comes up, letting my mind go and my hand move. It's very freeing!
