Two colour forms of Aristolochia baetica, near Maro in Andalusia, Spain. Growing within a few paces of each other. Also found in south Portugal, Algeria and Morocco. I shot these in 2017.

In Morocco? Difficult to see if the flowers are on pedicels when they are that packed together. Not as bitter as the other Apteranthes I have nibbled (all cultivated, I should add).

We gets tens of people popping in to the most famous church in the UK. Hasn't happened for years. Some of them didn't run away when we approached them.

Calendula is named for having flowers in all seasons. The name is a diminutive related to calendar and calends. Love to you from me and my dictionaries.

Looks like a winter-flowering viburnum to me, like Viburnum x bodnantense. Should smell delicious, despite the cold. Can flower continuously from October to March and only suffers from a really deep freeze, then makes more buds. Tough as old boots.

You still get to be called Mr. President for the rest of your life, right?

No need to worry but you should get very angry. I'd be spitting blood about it.

Lava cools rapidly. Therefore a lava stream would be the ideal place for a data centre. Point me at the venture capitalists, I need funding.

Eric Idle was one of Rob's close friends. Do you really think Rob would have minded being associated with The Rutles and The Comic Strip on this sad occasion? Rob was part of a great tradition and he knew it. His knowledge of other great works informed his own great original works.

They should stay quiet until the truth is known. Nasty gossip is one of the evils of social media that should be resisted.

That is a Samaritan stone. The Samaritans believe they have the only uncorrupted version of the Pentateuch, as provided to Moses by God. Rabbinic Jews believe the Samaritans are heretics and vice versa. God has stayed shtum on the issue. Schism is eternal and unending.

My favourite film: El Dia de la Bestia. Priest decides that the best way to win the Apocalypse is to start it now by calling up the Antichrist and decide the field of battle. So he does. Ethically sourcing virgin's blood for the ritual is tricky and hilarity ensues.

"The European Sperm Bank accepted these limits had "unfortunately" been breached in some countries and it was "in dialogue with the authorities in Denmark and Belgium"." I don't suppose there are criminal penalties but it seems they happily break ethical guidelines for profit. Somebody should pay.

They are nowhere near even planning the picking up dustbins part of it and are just testing a semi-autonomous vehicle that can drive around a pre-mapped route. Picking up bins is probably a lot more complicated than you imagine.

So which one are you starting on? I am sure there are megabucks waiting for you from the dustbin-emptying sector.

Nor me. Two of my great-grandparents and their little children came through England from Ukraine. Took one look at New York and booked their passage back to Liverpool. Another grandfather was Irish.
