You're right, it may not make it easier, but I can search for and try to put eyes on records I haven't yet seen. Worst case, I find nothing new. And since I'll continue to kick the brick either way, there's no good reason to rule the possibility out just yet. An exciting new avenue!! Thanks again!

I hadn't considered that! Though Ancestry doesn't show it, I have other sites showing very small amounts of North African DNA. I appreciate this idea - it's an avenue I hadn't considered but certainly one worth looking into. Thank you for thinking of this! :)
