Terrific new feature presented by @theo.io on @pathoplexus.org called SeqSets for generating DOIs for sequence subsets used in publications, that can then be tracked for impact via CrossRef that will allow data generators to track impact! #IMMEMXiV

We’ve also heard from 10X Genomics, Ultima Genomics and Single Genomics. Now the eagerly awaited talk about Roche SBX (Nanopore expandomer) sequencing from Bernd Timmerman. Showing we’ve come a long way from the early days of NGS. I still have fond memories of 454.

Our second keynote was @minomatt.bsky.social describing recent work on intra-operative real time brain tumour classification using Nanopore whole genome sequencing incorporating methylation - huge potential for improving time to diagnosis and optimising treatment pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/40392954/

Fabulous kick off talk at #GenomeScience25 from @matthewcobb.bsky.social discussing just a few of Francis Crick’s great conceptual leaps (and some less stellar moments) in the understanding of molecular biology and evolution as outlined in his new biography: get it on the Xmas list amzn.eu/d/fIPxARk

It's the final day of Genome Science 2024! It's been a really nice meeting and summer has also decided to finally arrive. Our first of the final two keynotes is Deb Williamson from UKHSA discussing linking pathogen genomics to diagnostics.

Next up is Shawn Levy (Element Bio) discussing the Aviti platform: intriguingly positioned sequencing platform that is very cost competitive: (image from @omicsomics.bsky.social) omicsomics.blogspot.com/2024/02/post...

Next up Richard Durbin from Cambridge talking about latest data from the Darwin Tree of Life project - reasonable to expect >1M species genomes (of total 1.8M named eukaryotes) in next 10 years:
