I'm a big fan of annihilation. Both the movie and the book! Both head in very different directions but definitely work with their medium.

Overall: literally my introduction to sci-fi RPG games and Sci-fi as a genre soooo, I may be a little bit biased but I love the game to absolute bits and highly recommended everyone play it

The unfortunate-
Cos it came out on 2007 the graphics and performance aren't quite up to scratch anymore, just kinda aged I guess. Again, this is heavily improved on in LE, but not much can be done.
Cos of these limitations some assets and sets had to be re-used so things feel repetitive sometimes.

Also the combat mechanics and gunplay can feel pretty clunky at times, with abilities that are supposed to lock on to enemies just not doing that. This is improved upon slightly in the legendary edition but still not the best handling game.

The side missions are a whole lot of fetch quests. Go here, get this thing, come back to me. That kinda stuff, the exploration on anything that isn't a main quest-line planet can be pretty bland, some environments feel meh.

Mass effect 1:
The good- absolutely BRILLIANT atmosphere, soundtrack, characters, just the setting is wonderful, and such a good intro to the universe. Perfect for those who love a lore deep-dive and those who just wanna run a round and shoot stuff.
