From what i remember, custom element slots are a little weird, for inatance the element needs to be using the shadow dom to even have slots.
Also, if your component doesn't already have a default slot, you can add one for debugging to see content that's not in the right slot.

No, but they'll "drive" short-term value for the share holders and be subsidized by some poor city looking to solve transportation issues with snake oil instead of just hiring more bus drivers/ train operators.
