On the same topic, I absolutely love Ruffalo’s David Toschi in Zodiac.

Oh yes, but if we’re going with Ruffalo, we’re going straight up Columbo reboot.

I can’t imagine it. The way she channels Peter Falk (obviously Columbo, but a healthy dose of Cassavetes Falk too) is so distinctive and appealing. It’s not transferable. Dinklage is great. Develop a new vehicle for him, something that plays to his strengths.

I’m working late tonight, so I had a couple of hours free this morning. Spent an hour of that playing bass along to Water No Get Enemy. The best combination of “harder than it sounds” and incredibly rewarding to get into.

I adore Illeana Douglas in that role, and God Give Me Strength is a phenomenal song.

That was what I thought for a while, but the way that Judi Dench’s Q carried over to the reboot suggests these things aren’t reliable.

I’ve never been sure about Brosnan (I fully accept that the previous four were the same guy). He once mentioned in an interview that he didn’t know himself if his Bond had been married to Tracey, and neither the producers nor the writers ever answered the question satisfactorily.

Even better, he wins a left hand drive DB5 off a bloke in a game of poker, but two films later has a right hand drive version. It’s also his own car, but for some reason kitted out with a whole bunch of equipment from 60s Q Branch.
