Really great breakdown by Samson. Does a great job highlighting how absurd Ingram’s shot-making is. One thing I’ll add is that Ingram’s free throw rate is significantly lower than previous seasons. If he can get back up to 5-6 attempts per game, his TS% should see a noticeable boost.
I watched the Brandon Ingram film, compared and contrasted the Pelicans vs. the Raptors, and I think the best years of his career are yet to come

if you watch, you'll enjoy it and learn something, hopefully

A few observations from last night’s Raptors-Sixers game:

1) Shead’s ability to develop a reliable floater/push shot will be critical to his success given his size. He doesn’t seem to have any issue getting into the paint, so continuing to add touch in that area will be important.

Like many, I’ve struggled to wrap my head around what the heck the Mavericks are doing, so I wrote about it: open.substack.com/pub/patrickb...

I would much prefer the Raptors sign Bruce Brown to an extension than trade him at the deadline. Has been a key part of Toronto’s recent defensive turnaround, great cutter and should help the young guys grow with offensive versatility. Not to mention that he seems like a great locker room presence.

The Cleveland Cavaliers feel like a good example of how roster fit matters less as continuity increases. Obviously this requires good coaching and player buy-in, but they seem to show that any apparent awkwardness with fit can be reduced with overwhelming talent over time.

The results haven’t been perfect, but like how aggressive Shead has been pushing the pace in transition/ communicating when the Raptors get back on defense.

Still a very small sample size (only 28 min), but an encouraging sign that the Raptors’ starting lineup last night (IQ, Gradey, Ochai, Scottie, Jak) has posted a net rating of +23.0 this season.

Jamal Shead ranking dead last in the NBA in EPM (-6.3) unfortunately feels about right . Pöltl is unsurprisingly the highest ranking Raptor.
