It’s the destruction of the new, carefully introduced pup-doll that breaks the man he thinks. That someone would be so needlessly cruel as to destroy something so obviously for comfort. Shen Qingqiu’s eyes go glassy and dull- the eyes of the dead who simply haven’t yet stopped breathing yet.
