Poem titled "In the Throes of Urgency." My teeth aren't perfect. My bite is uneven and my front teeth don't touch. My molars display damage otherwise invisible. Some no longer have curved tops revealing the truth of how tightly I've kept my mouth shut. My jaw aches as I try to gingerly hold your lip between my teeth. I'm sorry if I break skin. My incisors desperately compensate for the lack of the others taking hold. And all of me wants to hold you. I'm sorry if I hold you too tightly. My tendons flare with the fear of letting go
