Every paper I have ever published is in there. While I'm on board for open accessible research (down with paper fees), I'm not on board for them to be used for this.

I don't blame anyone at the ATS. Indeed, many of my American colleagues are probably facing their own challenges from this administration. I hope that this decision, along with the same decision from other academics in Canada and internationally, sends a signal to the administration.

But as I focus on spending my money in Canada, I can't in good conscience travel and spend Canadian funding, from Canadian tax payers, in a country where the leader is threatening my country and it's closest ally. This is where I am making my stand.

ATS is where I grew up as a scientist, attending every meeting since 2011 when I entered graduate school. I have made friends and met close colleagues and collaborators at the ATS. The people I have met there helped me start my own lab. I will miss the opportunity to connect and present this year
