Thanks to everyone who supported my fundraiser for St Petrock's yesterday. It was quite the adventure!

Exeter residents: if you'd like to fundraise for the charity, it's simple - see stpetrocks.org.uk/give-help/fu....

It's tomorrow!
Weather looks okay-ish for this time of year - definitely worse if you're homeless than just cycling for the homeless.

Almost final call: who will chip in for my fundraiser for Exeter's homeless charity?

A Monday morning question.

Rail traveller alert: 20% off interrail passes until 3 July, for travel after 1. September.

Might get myself a pass to be able to go to Verona for WSC by train next year! Still not as cheap as flying, but so much more fun and sustainable, with ability to include a couple of exciting stopovers.

Goodbye Dawlish, back home on the train #MarkingWalk bliss

At #Markingwalk destination my reward for a really productive time marking in the best office i could find. The flavour is tiramisù, the sea is cold and the feet rather tired. Still on final bit of Henry Green.

I've now switched to Henry Green, a real blast from the past (I once was going to write a book about Green). In the distance, Exmouth. At this end, the seawall in Dawlish Warren. Onward through the wood over clifftops to Dawlish #MarkingWalk

Starcross marks the transition to Jane Austen on my #MarkingWalk. Lunchtime, too.

Time for a short break in the progress of today's #MarkingWalk: need to appreciate that tide going out and refresh the suntan lotion. Deep in ballads still.

Time for suntan lotion and a short break #MarkingWalk

Onwards with this glorious #MarkingWalk: leaving taverns, alehouses and licenced inns hosting unlicensed performances behind for some more fun with broadside ballads.

And onto the next stage of the #MarkingWalk, with early modern drinking houses. The wholesome environment adds a lovely sense of contrast.

It is that golden time of the year when I get to go on a day-long #MarkingWalk. First up, a dissertation on teen Shakespeare films in the context of third-wave feminism.

Help, friends! I am trying to find the correct English term for what in German dramatic criticism is called a 'retardierendes Moment': the slowing of the action before the climax. Any dramatic tempo specialists out there?

Am tearing my hair out, especially when I find this kind of definition:
