James Bolam is a great villain in this. I once listened to it whilst walking the real moors of west Cornwall - very spooky!

I do believe that a thinly-disguised Lancia acted as stunt double for the demise of the Aston Martin.

The hotel is long gone, destroyed by fire I gather, but despite the gloomy predictions the railway survived.

So that's what he looked like!
We spent a family holiday at Lochcarron, probably about 4 years after this was filmed, looking out across the loch to the railway. I remember visiting both Dingwall and Kyle of Lochalsh, and several evenings were spent at the station hotel at Achnasheen.

I didn't recognise the singer but I did know the M&W set.

Written by Sid and Dick, of course. Often erroneously attributed to Eddie Braben when shown in its 'Andrew Preview' version.

With an appearance from Charlton Heston!

Oliver Elmes designed the 1987 CGI Doctor Who titles , so he was definitely still about.

Back-to-front - to me he will always be Wanda's son.

He was very good in Cabin Pressure, I wonder what he's been doing since...

I'm genuinely surprised this isn't readily available.

Sometimes the actual content seems to be barely 25% of the running time amongst all the introductions, puffs, recaps and summaries - and that's before you consider all the pointless dramatisations and barely relevant visuals.

Yes, I knew of her name in association with her Avengers character but had never made the connection with the nice Playschool lady of my early years!

Other annoying padding includes lengthy teasers before ad breaks and even longer recaps after - particularly when the programme is on the BBC so there isn't a break at all.

If you'd been fully awake I wouldn't have just learnt that early Avengers girl Julie Stevens, a Playschool presenter of my era, died a couple of months ago.

Connery... well... He's great in many things, but he will never be 007 to me. He's just too much of a Scottish lorry driver - so, obviously, he was splendid in Hell Drivers.

Roger Moore will always be 'my' Bond and therefore I like the dafter style of film. Lazenby was way better than given credit for, Dalton was probably actually too good for Bond, Brosnan was ok but no more. Disliked Craig before he started so haven't watched any.
