The Matrix was mind blowing to me. A real revolutionary movie experience. I was about 12 (living in Iran back then) and borrowed the VHS! from my ESL books and movies library.

It does have its flaws (the influence of the male gaze is obvious), but for 22 years ago it was pretty good.
