Dropped in to Three Blue Ducks last night to see if anything has changed since our last visit (on Instagram).

It’s (mostly) better! The salad was seperate leaves rather than a wedge and there were heaps more chips. Parma was a little smaller though which hurts for $35. Still a good one overall 👍

I was once at a Parma Festival and the Mr Whippy van was selling “Parma ice cream”… aka vanilla soft serve dipped in crushed Chicken Crimpy. I think a mix of chicken, cheese & bacon and pizza shapes would have really captured that parma vibe over just chicken crimpy, but I may be overthinking things

lol, nah the cheese is these strips of white confetti that somehow didn’t melt when the rest of the dish is burned to a crisp

The time I got sent a bunch of cheese that was a blend of Tasty and Philly and was asked to cook with it (I am in no way a professional chef). The cheese was weird and didn’t melt & I fucked the parma so bad I had to set the aperture on my camera ridiculously tight to hide how shit my cooking was 😅

Which is better, the recently departed KFC Tower Burger? Or the newly arrived Cheesy Zinger Stacker?

I know the Tower has its die hard stans, but I had it today and I *think* the Cheesy Stacker may be superior.

This is one of the only photos of the Prince of Wales/Jimmy Rowes parma. “Good” doesn’t even begin to describe how great this thing was - We’ve had good parmas over the years but we never topped it. Parma, chips, garden salad AND pasta salad?! Sadly the pub burned in 2009 and the parma was lost 😭

Flashback to The Imperial Bourke Street’s Christmas only turkey parma with cranberry sauce & brie circa 2012. It was pretty good! They should bring it back for the holidays

Wife has gone to Sydney for work for the week. Time for another playthrough of Catherine, my all time favourite adultery simulator #catherinefullbody

Against my better judgement I tried the Hungry Jacks “parmi” burger again.

Thoughts are pretty much the same. Super sweet napoli but otherwise very bland (although maybe a bit more pepper than last time?). Bacon was nice I guess and the chippies were good. Meh.

If anyone was curious what ever happened to the mannequin that was perched in a rowboat above Jimmy Rowes nightclub in Ascot Vale/Moonee Ponds - His head now lives in my garage.

So sad that I never got to try this before the Queensberry in Carlton took it off the menu. I have so many questions.

Looking down into the remains of the Waterside Hotel on King/Flinders. Last time I was there the parma was absolutely foul. That’s what you get.

For clarification on my post from earlier, this is a "parmo", originating in Middleborough, England. Basically a parma with bechamel sauce instead of napoli. Have I had one? No. Would I try one? ... Maybe. If any pubs here are brave enough to put one on the menu I volunteer as tribute

The mystery of the Cambodian restaurant using “ParmaDaze” keeps me up at night. Partly because their parmas look legit delicious. I need to find a sponsor willing to fly me to Phnom Penh to eat some chicken.

This isn’t a sponsored post in any way (to my 30+ BlueSky followers), but damn that V Refresh Blackcurrant & Yuzu is a delicious beverage. Highly recommend.

A bit of lore. In 2010 we visited a pub after being invited on Geelong Radio to judge their "best parma" comp. Halfway through one of our team yelped, reached into his mouth and pulled out a steel screw. We showed the chef, completely nonplussed, he shrugged and said "A bit of iron for your blood".
