The invocation of "entanglement" is enticing to a physicist ... :-)

Currently re-reading the "Athrabeth", I think there's something – possibly even interesting 😉 – to be said about the entanglement of body & soul (hröa & fëa), and how that is different for Elves and Humans ...

I'd love that! As would, I am sure, a lot of Danish Tolkien enthusiasts.

(Unfortunately, I do not think that Queen Margrethe would have the time to do a Danish translation herself directly from the French ... though of course, she /ought/ to 😉)

Marie, Is that booklet avaialable in other than French?
I am very certain that I know quite a few Danes who would absolutely love to be able to read that 😊

All in all, I suppose that there are disabilities for which a week in a tent with 40,000 other Guides & Scouts is just not possible, and though I think people will go far to find solutions, in some cases, it just isn't possible.

With an expected price tag of about £250.- for a full week including transport, food, and activities, it's not exactly cheap, but it should be affordable for most families in Denmark (and support can usually be found if not).

Not being queer myself, it can be difficult to assess, but Guides & Scouts do participate in the Pride in uniform wearing rainbow neckers.
The attitudes in local groups can vary a lot, and may not always meet the official standards of inclusiveness.

Disabilities that require that you need a wheelchair can be a bit difficult on camp, but I've seen quite a lot of them, and the general feeling seems to be that "we make it work".
Shops and other 'official' structures can be accessed, though not all activities will be possible.

I tried to apply that to our "Jamboree Denmark" done by the Guides and Scouts in Denmark, though doing it for the fourth time in 2026 might stretch the "proof of concept" bit ....

The analytical framework that James Tauber and others are building with the @digitaltolkien.com project is utterly brilliant!
I have long felt that the multi-dimensional history of Tolkien's Silmarillion world can only be represented digitally

I couldn't quite phrase it as a sensible question, but I'd love to hear Robin's thoughts about Tolkien's portrayal of strength (i.e. “strong” characters), and particularly the degree to which it can be said to be gendered (masculine).
