They then travelled to Oświęcim where they had a guided tour of the Auschwitz I and Auschwitz-Birkenau extermination camp sites and the museum there. This gave the students an opportunity to reflect on the different memorial sites they had seen and guided tours they had experienced during the trip.

Day 4 - Płaszów & Auschwitz
On their final day in Poland, our MA students had a guided tour of the commemorative monuments and memorial site of the former forced labour and concentration camp, Płaszów, with Kamil from Muzeum KL Płaszów.

After travelling to Kraków, the students visited the Eagle Pharmacy and the remains of Kraków Ghetto Wall. Their final stop of the day was to see the statue of Wojtek the Soldier Bear in Jordan Park which commemorates the men of the 2nd Polish Corps.

Day 3 - Warsaw → Kielce → Słomniki → Kraków
The students left Warsaw in the morning to visit the memorials of the Kielce Ghetto before heading to Słomniki where they followed the directions of Polish Scouts to find a memorial to the Jewish community of Słomniki.
