The receipe is a slightly later addition (10thC?) to a 9th-century manuscript, written at the abbey of Saint-Vaast in Arras & now in the Parker Library as CCCC MS 223, p. 2

One of the known issues with digitized MSS is the difficulty of grasping the scale
