I'm not a cinephile, I'm a cinevore.
My goal is to see 365 films this year. 🎟️🎫🎥🎬
This story was handled worse than a box marked fragile being loaded on a plane at Christmas.

When a young woman wishes she'd never been born, she's confronted with the consequences: a killer runs amok in her small town. But the real victim is the screenplay we slaughtered along the way.

Like an orgasm during a colonoscopy, this was more feel-good than I expected or wanted.

While I appreciate the feminine forward momentum of the film and found it pleasantly more focused than its predecessor, The Marvels was too light for a serious Marvel film and too serious for a comedy.

Napoleon (2023)

Like a tour of the optometrist's: there's a lot of grind and not enough spectacles.

PS, If you want to know how decadent I am, the last picture shows the meat lovers pizza, bucket of popcorn sand Mountain Dew I had delivered to my recliner chair in the IMAX theater!

Like the word 'good': it means well, but doesn't go hard enough.

The movie does, however, make me want to watch the 2014 documentary about the American Samoan team, also called 'Next Goal Wins '.

The best part of this film is the focus on Jaiyah Saelua, played by Kaimana, a Samoan faʻafafine.

Priscilla (2023, USA)

Like a used diamond bit: spectacular, dull and it bored the whole time.

Sofia Coppola did a stellar job directing, unfortunately there was nothing (apart from a very talented Cailee Spaeny) there for her to direct.

Wingwomen / Voleuses (2023, Netflix)

Like a bad ass job: they botched the end and didn't know what to do with the cast.Like a bad ass job: they botched the end and didn't know what to do with the cast.

Butcher's Crossing (Bad meet, USA 2022)

Like a nature screensaver or wallpaper: pretty to look at and pretty predictable.

Butcher's Crossing is exactly the same as the Deadliest Catch except with bison instead of crabs and the 1800s instead of the ocean. Oh, and worse actors.
