But worth noting: CA still gets 40% of its electricity from natural gas (fossil fuel), & the 2020 rolling blackouts, not data centers, led to Diablo’s extension.This well-built, 24/7 clean-energy asset isn’t a relic—it’s built to last. The extension was the best thing Newsom has done.
