Parents For The Planet
@parents4planet.bsky.social
providing support for the eco-overwhelmed. Planet parents are people who worry about and brag on their planet. Positive news, actions to take, art, and more. IRL a business psychologist. Use ALT text. Accessibility matters.
The world is dark, but the art endures. My kickstarter copy of In The Pale Moonlight by @dougawood.bsky.social has arrived! My world is a little brighter. There are new ways to get your kickstarter art fix on his feed.

Oh your #RageAgainstTheRegime protest didn’t have brass band excellence? You should fix that. Welcome @notesofdissentmb.bsky.social to BlueSky! They’re new, they’re small, they’re fierce. #Denver #BlueskyResistance #VoiceForVictory

We have a Ubiquity G4Pro. It does video and is motion triggered and the video is available over WiFi.

This is what I’m celebrating. Beautiful dancing and every kid in the neighborhood on their bikes in the street in a parade.
This isn’t just who my neighborhood is, this is who we all are. We can be good protective fierce joyful neighbors. Today and every day.
Happy Interdependence Day.

Words to breathe by from Joanna Macy.
She has been one of my inspirations in eco-grief work, as she's been for many.
These days, we need Active Hope everywhere.
As she enters her life transition, people all over the world are praying or sending her good thoughts at 12:30 PM Pacific each day.

Happy #DisabilityPrideMonth to ALL, since almost all will eventually be eligible.
Let's channel the ferocity of the activists of the Capitol Crawl who got the ADA passed 35 years ago.
As we fight for Medicaid and the VA.
As we fight for disabled folk in ICE prisons.
As we try ensure ADA survival.

The most important Barack Obama photo, I think. ‘Hair Like Mine’ by Pete Souza.

Look @stoutheartstudio.com your delicious succulent print (on metal, highly recommend) in situ. Thanks so much for your art.

We have a big rainbow on the tower and a little one on the bridge in Denver.

It is June, my #Denver friends. And that there is a row of snowplows. Share in my appalled confusion. No snow down here to my knowledge.

I’ll see your kitty zoomies and raise you some fox zoomies. A different fox scent marked that initial spot the day before and some of us got very excited about it.

It’s a grumpy but I have a lovely shirt from @sarahmackattack.bsky.social.
I have a lifelong irrational cephalopod fear stemming from watching ‘The Grabby Fish Movie’ aka ‘20,000 Leagues Under The Sea’ at age 4, so appreciate the enormous progress represented, thanks in part to Sarah’s art.

I'm trying to take more flower pictures in an attempt to work through my anosmia grief. I think this is a Buckeye? Big tree on my walk yesterday.
Botany BlueSky will tell me. Anyway, I'm hoping that if I concentrate on the visual I will miss the smells a little less.

Well I know I feel better after sweary embroidery.
Folks have been working out their frustrations with needles for thousands of years. I need to get some sort of soul representation into the basket though.
A heart? A ghost?

This is the #DDayProtest graphic with AltText for sharing. Let’s support veterans, remember our fascist-fighting grandparents and counteract the wasteful birthday dictator parade.

Sweary dish towels embroidery stress relief session is tomorrow!
Now accepting suggestions for the . . . And/or phrases to add to these archaic little monsters.
What shall we do instead of this nonsense? With swears of course because brain chemistry improves more that way.

May 1st Flowers:
When I was little, my mother made tiny paper baskets we'd hang on the neighbors' doorknobs.
When my son was little, we'd hand out flowers to the elders in the neighborhood.
So here's a flower, BlueSky neighbors.
May your rallies go well and your gardens grow.

Yay! Congratulations on this! When I had a yard, it was thyme instead of grass, another great way to cut down on chemicals and keep your pollinators happy.

Denver #NoKings #50501 protest
My beloved city is getting 1000s of visitors who are connecting with action groups, discovering downtown is quite nice, practicing public transit, getting a walk & some cleansing yelling in.
Good side effects.
Denver’s in for as long as it takes.
April 19, 2025 at 9:14 PM
Denver #HandsOff. Like this. For 45 minutes plus. In the cold and occasional snow.
April 5, 2025 at 11:40 PM
My little weather proof sign for the snowy Denver rally. Next time I will get artist assistance.
April 5, 2025 at 10:44 PM
Squee! The dish towels for sweary embroidery community night have arrived. I will be teaching new embroiderers and we will be adding little rage and profanity filled action items to these vintage gems as we vent/bond.
Feel free to offer suggestions.

So many BlueSky folks find good news all week, I just pull it together. Apologies for any misses.
The words of the week, in honor of Larry in WI who spontaneously changed his testimony, come from Marsha P. Johnson. Let's keep making the best cumulative realities we can. #GoodNewsRoundup
