A couple of stickers with Dave Fraser’s art that will be in an animal alphabet book. Stickers will be on sale at the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific Art and Music in the gardens, Aug 9 and 10th. There are 9 random letters stickerized.

A few years ago the Entomology Societies of Canada, BC and America held a conference in Vancouver,BC on the science/art theme. It was fantastic for biologists (me) and my artistic family that created amazing bug art for a booth. Such an awesome experience for all!

Thanks to the CRD for adding information and sort of barriers for keeping people from trampling the Viola primorsa at Bear Hill Regional Park.
A trail through a Garry Oak Forest with a rope fence and a sign requesting people to stay on the trail to avoid trampling a violet and an aster—both of which are rare.

You fish people! I’m reading (sort of) a phd thesis by Ben Schultz (U of Guelph), doing my usual muttering about fish bios and their obsession with DNA when I hit this beautiful piece of fibre art! Oops, I mean plot showing chromosome links between the 2 dace studied. #sciart #chromosomes #fish
