i was sent away with no bloodwork referral, no urologist referral. my dad’s cancer went unnoticed because of this exact treatment by doctors and i’m terrified. i’m trying so hard and no matter what i do i still get told i’m not trying hard enough and that my health issues are still my fault.

would you look this patient dead in the eyes, knowing their history, and tell them that all their medical issues are just because they are fat, and if they just stop being lazy and go outside that their medical issues will go away?

this happened to me today.

family history on father’s side of kidney cancer, infections, and frequent large stones. pt is 215lbs, 5 feet 2 inches tall. previous medical diagnosis of insulin resistant PCOS. pt has had a difficult time losing weight regardless of medical intervention.
