Yup. I love the idea but I'm realistic enough to know companies will do all they can to find loopholes. It's the same way they'll call 39 hour weeks "part-time" to prevent paying for benefits at 40. They'll likely turn salary to hourly to avoid it; hiring 2 hourly at a fraction of thecost.

Not only that but if you get a new Windows laptop, they're forced to replace the right CTRL button with a button for Microsoft's AI.

Oh yea, it's not on you! Your friend started a crowdfund and you shared it. I just noticed because art is my life so I've had to start looking at every visual more carefully and things stand out.

It's kinda gross that they're using an AI image for something that doesn't need a visual and then to also slap that on merch. There's hundreds of free graphics of a girl astronaut but they decided to steal from artists.

Had the same thought during Running Man, it was visually amazing but I kept feeling like the plot was all over the place, especially the back half. Baby Driver worked because it was a simple heist plot but anything too complex and he just gets lost.

I'd definitely be one of those lost. Using a half-life game was a system seller for a niche piece of tech would honestly kill any interest in a half-life 3 if they pick it up from Alyx cuz I'm not buying Steam VR.

I still maintain that the 2014 rebranding was what started the domino effect. They removed so many features and made it more of a social media; it became harder to find new artists and even comment on the artists you follow. So many classics left when their engagement drastically dropped.

Dude reminds me of Beto O'Rourke; was everywhere for awhile, tried to play the "joe everyman" angle but kept flailing after a major loss and tanked his political career. Now he's just that "anti-gun guy that ran in Texas...".

It's just a repeat of covid pricing. The prices never go down on anything. Housing, fast food, groceries, computers; etc. Once they hit a point, even if whatever artificially inflated them vanishes, corporations will just keep the price and say "eh, it wasn't that".

As a professional graphic designer and photographer, I've never ONCE used any kind of GenAI. Would it make my life easier to generate something instead of spending 10 minutes making it? Sure but where's the enjoyment in that? It's like using a cheat code to skip the whole game and one-hit the boss.

He's really ramping up for a Presidential run in '28 and he's probably who the mainline Dems will push as their pick. Dude's just a younger Biden with an interest in trains. I hate our political system...
November 14, 2025 at 5:52 PM
I can't believe this is even something we have to discuss but..fuck. This is the world, where there was a digital countdown to various celebrities turning "legal". Some people have waited to try and act like 15 is "acceptable" because it could be worse. Nah, it's all worse the older you get.
November 13, 2025 at 3:36 PM
But VR just isn't that popular; it's not just a Meta issue but Google, Apple, and Sony. It's a niche market that only appeals to techbros. Same with "IT HAS LINUX!", that's not a selling point for 95% of consumers. What people want is "plug in, turn on, play game". This is all just techbro hype.
November 13, 2025 at 1:05 PM
But wouldn't an easy work around to just pull a Fetterman and keep claiming they're with the same party despite switching every political opinion?

You might enjoy learning about "California Forever", the town tech giants have spent years trying to make happen and all the obvious lies they made to try and trick locals. It shows how their usual tricks work in normal, non-capitalistic areas.

I'm honestly surprised that Epstein had a Gmail account. Dude had a whole island but didn't pay for a private server for extra security? I barely trust Google for anything slightly private and he's basically admitting to everything in his vast network casually on a Gmail account?!

Then it definitely sounds like a misunderstanding on her end. My folks are the same way just for a Christmas eve when people don't stay over. Just suddenly having 7 people with presents and food and snacks; when everyone leaves in a few hours, it takes time to clean up. Sleeping over is much worse!

Is it possible she's offended because she thinks you're saying she/your family are too messy and left a previous place as a mess even if you're trying to be proactive and reduce the stress?
November 13, 2025 at 1:18 AM
I'm just cynical enough after the Dems caving last week to think they had this email locked and loaded to distract. Now all the "vote blue-" crowd will move on to this email and away from holding Schumer accountable for orchestrating the last minute cave and screwing over the people who trusted him.
November 12, 2025 at 3:35 PM
Same reason the "vote blue no matter who" crowd have been against Mamdani; it's never been about unity but about doing what's best for the people in charge.
November 10, 2025 at 11:11 PM
Yup. If they yield now, without actually gaining ANYTHING, it'll just show everyone there's no need to negotiate for another three years. This is VITAL. I hate that this is our life. It shouldn't be hard to just not be a coward.

She never really had a career. She only became a notable star because her extremely rich older boyfriend wanted to get into movie production and used his connections. She's not a good actor, just easy gooner bait.
November 9, 2025 at 9:15 PM
That speaks volumes to the current state of politics, where billionaires just assume anything against them is just lies to get elected and then complaining for not getting special treatment.

If a car builds a car that explodes and refuses to recall it, they'll get charged for any death it causes. We need to start hold AI accountable for every death they contribute to, especially encourage.
