O God, who gladden us year by year
as we wait in hope for our redemption,
grant that, just as we joyfully welcome
your Only Begotten Son as our Redeemer,
we may also merit to face him confidently
when he comes again as our Judge.

and not the material ones, but that of someone or a family to be with this special occasion. Christmas may be over rated but for those who are alone, we are thankful for not being lonely, and hope for the best to those who are.
