This isn't news. Oligarchs have laywers on retainer to write bills that benefit them. They pay lobbyists to schmooze & pedal these bills to politicians. When this system doesn't get it done, they fund a primary opponent that will play ball with them.

It's the fact that we have had these safety nets so woven into the fabric of our society for generations that has allowed these modern-day con-man cowboys to feel so secure in their "rugged individualism"
