Thanks for listening to me rattle on. There is a good chance I am pulling this all out of my ass, but I am obsessed with the idea of Alastor taking on this role and I can’t stop seeing the evidence within the show and ep4 made me vibrate that this could be the case.

If there is one thing we learned in ep4 is that Alastor REQUIRES self-control to function and he does not like losing control. Due to what we can gather of his contract with Rosie, he has to do SOMETHING with the Morningstars so his inability to fight back to Lucifer is apparent.

Additionally, look back at the ep4 setup. Who is the one that pushed Alastor to leave the hotel and quit? It was Lucifer! And seemingly for a little thing compared to what many reasons he could have left. But Luci pushing his buttons, making him feel less powerful and out of control, drove Al out.
