Also wondering. If the issue is that leaving negative feedback about your experience risks retaliatory feedback, I agree buyer feedback ratings make no sense. Unfortunately on eBay/ Etsy etc negative feedback leads to being throttled by the platform so those ratings amount to a harsh punishment.

It’s all worse for the seller than for the buyer. The star review system is generally super punishing to sellers. But strong service recovery tactics empower that particular demographic of complainers-because-I-want-something-free-and-it’s-the-internet-so-I-don’t-feel-bad-being-mean.
