I’ll second this emotion. A really excellent read.
A bit late to the party but this is one of the most extraordinary works of fiction I've read in a long time. The Last Samurai by Helen DeWitt. Sorry it's taken me so long to get to it. Each book has its moment as if lying in wait for us. This copy jumped out at me from Sacred Heart Op Shop shelves.

Well-written stories. They all seem to end in an anti-twist, which I kind of like. “Door in Your Eye” is quite good.
