Would have been on The O.C.
Would also love to give a special thank you to Rob Wilks, who gave a phenomenal drum performance right before I met Joe, though we ultimately decided to re-record the drums with our new bandmate for consistency.

Cheers to Brett Shaw at 123 Studios for dealing with 8 rounds of mixes over the past couple years, and Felix Davis at Metropolis for bringing it home.

—affirming a long-held gut feeling that this was a song that I needed to get 𝘳𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵—but not much else about me has changed. We don't have much video of this one, but Danny Monk worked very hard on it to magnificent effect.

I'd never felt such passion for finishing a song before, and still haven't. The original demo was janky, poorly timed, and out of tune, but I was proud of it. The irony being that I'd made a song so I could tell her how I felt, but still didn't have the courage to send it to her.

I have fond memories in Arkansas, after living two years in Eastern Europe, of clocking out of work at McDonald's and speeding home, eager to discard my Covid mask and open up Audacity—the only DAW I'd bothered to learn after seven years in music—and work on this song.
