Very messy, flat-coloured concepts of a large creature beside a well-dressed elf woman. The beast is a mix of tabby cat, wildcat (such as lynx, lion, and tiger), and a traditional Japanese maneki-neko. The elf woman is shorter than the cat beast and has long dark hair, and her clothing is a combination of gladiator and circus lion tamer with colour themes of crimson, black, gold, and small accents of white. The cat has a crimson collar covered in different sized bells, and bells also hand from the large upward-curving horns behind its ears. 4 sketchy concepts for the elf woman, experimenting with different mixes of the gladiator and lion tamer. 6 different concepts for the big cat, which are all pretty bad except for the last one. A pearlescent conch shell rapier with an intricate metal guard, seaweed wrapping, and a pearl as the counterweight. Base shading of the sword. Initial sketch of the rapier. Alternate sketch ides if a horseshoe crab as a shield with retractable blade attached. Gave up on this idea because it kind of just looked like an ordinary horseshoe crab with a bit of leather bolted to it.
