You have some good points and I'm no white knight but I've been trying to deal with the conservative mindset for decades and it seems to continue to devolve. Maybe this won't end tragically but I'm hedging my bets. I hope you stay well and happy where you are and maybe one day we can all join hands.

He's good at pandering to peoples fears and telling them what they want to hear, true or not. Do Dems need to be better at messaging? Yes! Are Dems perfect? No! Are there shared values? Sure but if people stay willfully uninformed and vote to punish others I won't extend an olive branch

I don't see much value in have an honest conversation about that candidate. He told us who he is, he always does. And people still voted for him, knowing full well it was going to hurt many people. No most of my neighbors probably don't want to kill me but if I had a different skin tone or different

There is no shared values with those people. Yes, throughout the country there were many more moderate people who voted for him but if you can look evil, greed, racism, and hatred in the eye and still vote for that, I'm not sure we really have many shared values.

There may be more racism and misogyny in America than a lot of people think. I've seen it. #7 Living where I do, I know a lot of people who voted for the Felon Elect. Many of them think Democrats are evil. Many others want to cling to a past where women and minorities were considered property....

#5 See #3. A lot of women were scared that Harris would ruin their lives. #6 The Felon Elect's message is appealing to a lot of white folks. Not me, I prefer honesty and helping people but being an older white dude from the Midwest, I have gotten to peek behind the curtain and it's not pretty.

I agree with #1 & #2. #3 is true but not so simple. They leveraged fear and lies (They're eating the dogs! They're eating the cats!) to convince a lot of people that they would keep them safe. #4 I'm not sure what you are referencing there so I can't say. I'd need more info on specific instances...
